Siemens signed an agreement with WorleyParsons to explore greater collaboration on energy and power infrastructure projects, grid optimization, integration of renewable technologies, and energy efficiency and storage technologies in North East South America and the Caribbean (NESAC) region.
Signed by Siemens and WorleyParsons during the annual Offshore Technology Conference in Houston, TX, the non-exclusive agreement will build on an existing MoU between Siemens Ltd. (Australia) and WorleyParsons Service Pty Limited.
The new collaboration seeks to focus on offshore oil and gas opportunities, as well as onshore electrification and industrialization projects where power and critical infrastructure are in high demand throughout the NESAC region. Collaboration between Siemens and WorleyParsons will be led from WorleyParsons’ Caribbean operations located in Trinidad.
“The North East South America and Caribbean region offers tremendous potential for companies like Siemens and WorleyParsons to collaborate and leverage our technology and engineering expertise on major energy and infrastructure projects,” said Jürgen Brandes, Chief Executive Officer of Siemens Process Industries & Drives. “This partnership, for example, will help offer electrified technology for production systems, which is an attractive offering for regions looking to strengthen their infrastructure.”
“Through this Agreement with Siemens, we hope to work more closely together to bring affordable power to remote areas in the region both by extending the life of existing equipment and adding new electrification and digitalization solutions,” said Mr. Neil Robertson, WorleyParsons Regional Managing Director-Services US West and Latin America.
