Nuclear Power Corporation of India (NPCIL), a government-owned power utility, has scrutinized a proposed nuclear power plant site at Rajouli in the Indian city of Nawada.
The Bihar state has assured to provide land and water for a proposed 1400MW nuclear generating station in Nawada.
State Power Minister Vijendra Prasad Yadav was quoted by the Press Trust of India as saying that a team of NPCIL has recently inspected the site.
Yadav also informed that the state government has assured to provide 160 cusecs of water from the Ganga river for the proposed nuclear power project. The inspection report is awaited.
Recently, Atomic Energy Commission head Ratan Kumar Sinha had given a green signal for the nuclear power plant in Bihar which would boost the availability of electricity in the state.
