Day & Zimmermann (D&Z) has secured a five-year maintenance and modifications contract with Texas-based STP Nuclear Operating Company (STPNOC).
STPNOC operates the South Texas Project Electric Generating Station (STPEGS), which supplies more than 7.5% of the electricity used in Texas, US.
Owned by Austin Energy, CPS Energy, and NRG Energy, the nuclear power station features twin Westinghouse pressurized water reactors (PWRs) which produce 2,700MW of carbon-free electricity.
Day & Zimmermann NPS president Gary McKinney said, ”We are excited about this opportunity and are committed to partnering with STP to share the capabilities and industry best practices D&Z delivers to much of the U.S. nuclear fleet.”
