A full feasibility study was carried out for a biomass district heating system for a large country house and nearby offices.
The study included:
- Assessment of existing heating systems
- Outline system design
- Selection of possible heat distribution, boiler and fuel store equipment
- Financial comparison of potential system design options
Biomass resource assessment
When completed, the study showed that there would only be a low to moderate return on financial investment; however due to rising fossil fuel costs, generous grant funding and a pro-active client the project was subsequently constructed.
