To jointly create a large-scale solar project in Taiwan, Asia-Pacific green independent power producer (IPP) NEFIN Group has partnered with solar materials manufacturer and plant builder Solarlink Energy Co Ltd. According to the release, the project will be completed in Taixi, Yunlin, and it involves a major substation land property with a substation capacity of up to 500 MW.
According to Sam Lee, deputy managing director of NEFIN Taiwan, NEFIN is going to collaborate with Solarlink and farmers in Taixi to create a large-scale solar framework with the intention of fostering growth in green power consumption and local prosperity, following the most recent policies advocated by Yunlin province and the Taiwan government.
The joint company will profit from NEFIN’s financial support as well as from Solarlink’s expertise in solar development and solid local connections. The latter is supported by the Philippine conglomerate Ayala Corporation, which is a subsidiary of AC Energy Corporation.
Up to this point, NEFIN and AC Energy have together constructed upwards of 3,000 MW of utility-scale, industrial, commercial, and rooftop solar energy projects.
