North American solar power developer Recurrent Energy has commenced commercial operation at a 38MW PV project in Sacramento, California.
The project is part of a four-project portfolio, totaling 88MW, developed by Recurrent for the Sacramento Municipal Utility District under a 20-year feed-in-tariff agreement.
Recurrent had earlier commenced operations three of the four projects located in Galt, Elk, Grove and Sloughhouse in Sacramento County, California. The four projects will power a combined 13,000 homes per annum in the region.
Commenting on the projects Recurrent Energy CEO Arno Harris stated, “The completion of this portfolio showcases that strong renewable energy policy and collaboration between the public and private sectors can drive the solar industry to play a significant role in meeting our energy needs.”
The company had secured investments Google and SunTap Energy in December 2011 for the development of the said projects.
Commencement of operations at the 38MW projects takes Recurrent’s operational portfolio to 138MW solar projects in US.
