The system is projected to generate 627 MWh of energy in its first year of operation, which is equivalent to powering 86 average Massachusetts homes for a year. The system is installed on two rooftops in the building complex.
The solar professionals at Tecta Solar provided a turn-key solution for Shop Solar and managed the project from start to finish. Services included design, engineering, procurement, construction, SREC registration and commissioning of the roof-mounted project. Prior to the installation of the solar PV system, Tecta’s local roofing operating unit replaced the roofs.
“This installation is the first part of a two-phase project,” says Brett Chapman, Tecta Solar’s General Manager of New England. “Phase two is a 231-kWp system with Suntech polycrystalline modules and Uni-Solar thin-film laminates that will be finished by the end of the year.”
Tecta Solar installed the first commercial solar photovoltaic system to be qualified for the Massachusetts RPS Solar Carve-Out, a 142.6-kWp system that has been in operation for over a year.
